The Jerk Balance is good for learning the correct technique on the jek portion of the lift. It also develops power in the receiving position.
The lifter takes the bar off the stands and takes a very short step forward. His weight is even on both feet. This is the starting position. From here, he completes the jerk by moving the front foot into the completed position. He then lowers the bar and recovers back to the starting position by withdrawing the front foot slightly.
