Front Squats--(Top photos) Elbows are kept up, back is erect, feet are in the same position as in the receiving position for the clean; slightly wider than shoulder width.
Split Squats--(Photos on right) Elbows are kept down because the upper body leans back. Feet are in the predetermined position for the clean. From the bottom position, recover by straighting the rear leg and pushing back with the front leg.
