In order to see if he was pulling correctly, the lifter fastened a small flashlight to the end of the barbell and took a time lapse photograph of himself doing the Snatch. He snatched the weight, took two steps backwards and then returned the bar to the platform. Then he was able to close the camer's shutter. The part of the photos to the right of the dotted line is the actual lift.
In the single photo above:
1. It appears the bar didn't contact his thighs. That's the way they did it in the '50s.
2. You can see where he caught the bar overhead while in the receiving position.
3. He stepped forward a little as he stood up.

The four photos on the right show that his form was a little off. In the bottom photo, he failed to get under the bar. He returned it to the platform.
